Music challenge

I've got only 70 songs left in the music challenge (listening to all 6197 songs on my mp3 player in a row). It's take me over 6 months. I thought I'd feel free near the end but actually I'm apprehensive. I'm actually going to have to decide what to listen to from now on.

Dickheads

I´ve met a shit load more dickheads on this trip than I did last year. And a lot more boring people. Last night was by far the worst. I was supposed to be meeting some people at the train last night but couldn´t find the train station without a map and missed them. And I ended up having to spend the night watching tv with the giggly annoying opinionated pom, the rude opinionated pom and the boring incredibly stupid aussie. The Aussie came out with a couple of gems. He said that his mobile is with Telstra and when he came over to Norway it said Vodaphone and he got worried that that would mean he would get a bill from Vodaphone as well as one from Telstra and so he rang up Telstra to find out. But it gets better. He asked someone who had been in Sweden for a couple of days if they sold Tooheys New in the pubs here and was amazed that they not only didn´t sell it in the pubs here but didn´t sell it in pubs (except aussie ones) anywhere outside Australia. He said "It´s sold in every pub in Australia so I assumed it was available all round the world."

Save me from them.

Phwjoards

I spent two days catching boats and buses through the Western Fjords in Norway on Monday and Tuesday and it was incredible. I have a new favourite place in Europe. The scenery really is stunning.

Snorway

Of the five nights I've been in Norway I've had three where my sleep has been seriously disrupted by people snoring. I've been known to snore in my time but I'm making an effort to sleep on my stomach when I'm sleeping in a dorm. It's really starting to get to me.

On the plus side Norway is beautiful and I went white water rafting today. Phwoar, imagine that.

Did you know that Sanjit from the Kumars (tv show) is married to the grandma from the Kumars. They're actually the same age.

Beer and no exercise diet

I just found out that I've lost over 5kg in the last 8 months. I think I've disproved all the theories that say you need a balanced diet and exercise to lose weight. I've done mine on a slightly better diet than before and occasional binge drinking (stopping me eating anything for a day or two afterwards). My reward to myself for finding out how much weight I lost was to buy myself KFC for lunch.

On another note my doctor reckons it's not my asthma that is flaring up but that I have laryngitis (which doesn't surprise me given how easily I lose my voice when I get pissed these days).

Breakfast Beer

I woke up yesterday morning and felt quite thirsty. Knowing that I didn't have any other kind of drink (except water and who drinks that?) I thought I'll have a beer. Then I realised that it was 10am and a beer probably wasn't really appropriate. So I went thirsty.

ID

I went and saw a movie (Mr and Mrs Smith (was quite good fun)) last night with Kate and Terry-weak-as-piss (TWAP) and we went to the pub beforehand for a drink. TWAP got asked for ID but they let us go through without being checked. Obviously TWAP looks nine years younger than he is.

Hate Richard

I've rarely been hated as much as me and Pete were tonight (getting a curry in Brick Lane (the worst organised curry I've ever seen (cost about two and a half time the last one I had (you can bargain for drinks and discounts in Brick Lane)))). And it really was unjustified. We'd already been snubbed even before we (very discreetly (no really, it was) complained about how much the drinks cost and had our head bitten off.

Hate people.

Bog laps

Why is it that R&B, the music least suited to being listened to loudly (except maybe country), is the music most often listened to overly-loudly by people driving slowly round in their cars?

Yard Glass

I tried, and failed, to complete a yard glass at a party on Saturday night. I'll manage it next time when I haven't already had a few drinks. Although saying I failed isn't necessarily true because the dickhead next to me grabbed it off me when I'd paused at one stage and finished it off himself.

It's finally happpened

Well, it's finally happened. I finally fell asleep on the tube and slept to the last stop. Thankfully I was on a train that went to zone 3 rather than zone 6, otherwise I probably would have missed the last train.

On the plus side I got quite a nice kebab when I did get back to Chez Bu.
